This morning I played with Adobe photoshop and I have come up with this inscribed stone effect that I used as a background for my Tthuluth calligraphy (shown below). I am happy with the result.

What a great idea to make a customized bookmarker!..I really love this idea as one way to commemorate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam. I add jawi calligraphy rendered in Thuluth style that says 'Nabi Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wassallam Lambang Insan Cemerlang'

In the Belait District the mass gathering and procession to commemorate the birthday of prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was held at the municipal field with over 7,000 people taking part. The chief guest was the Permanent Secretary at the Priminister's Office, Awg. Haji Omar bin Abdul Rahman.

Muslims all over the country will be celebrating Maulud Nabi on February 26 (Saturday) this year with a mass gathering and procession to mark the Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) birth to be held in all four districts. Traditionally, Prophet Muhammad's birthday in the Belait District will take place at the Padang Bandaran, Kuala Belait.
Dikir recital ceremony in conjunction with the upcoming Maulud Nabi celebrations.
The zikir recital was read after the Isya Prayer.In conjunction with the upcoming Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) birthday celebrations, government ministries and departments all over the country will be holding Dikir recitals to mark the upcoming celebrations. The Zikir recital will continue every night until February 25, the night before Prophet's birthday celebrations.

Written in Thuluth style calligraphy is a Quranic verse that says: 'Allah and His angles send blessings on the Prophet, You that believe! send blessings on him and salute him with all respect

The second image is the seed containing the whitish compressed cotyledon that can be eaten. It has a fine flavour crunchy with 'lemak' (fatty taste). I cracked it open using 'parang' (knife). Since the seed has a hard shell, a nutcracker doesn't work on this seed. After cracking it you will find a crunchy greenish nut. Use toothpick to take the nut out of the shell :)
To what extent are you familiar with the above fruit? I bet that local people will easily recognize the above fruit. The fruit, locally known as 'Kembayau" (Pronunciation Cam-Ba-Yaw). Kembayau is a fruit only found in Borneo especially Brunei Darussalam which is widely diversify and Kembayau has special affinity to Bruneian. Good quality fruit have oily yellowish look when the outer skin is removed. Like durian that can reap profit, Kembayau has made it way to every 'pasar tamu' or open air stall in Brunei.
The way to consume the fruit is first rinse and then soak it in slightly warm water until it soften. Season with salt or sugar. What does this dark purple fruit taste like? The yellowish flesh taste creamy and according to one blogger he said that after tasting Kembayau for a couple of times it has a fine flavour with a sort of potatoish flavour. If you have the opportunity to visit Brunei, try just one and you will know why the demand for this fruit is so great..:)
